Soon-Rok is another attractive man whom Yumi dates in “Yumi’s Cells” after Woong and Babi. He looks sharp at work with his glasses on, but when he is not at work, he transforms into a laid-back individual who enjoys his sofa and bath.
How did Soon-Rok and Yumi start dating in the first place?
In the webtoon “Yumi’s Cells,” Soon-Rok first appeared as an editor at a publishing company. He goes to Yumi’s office to get a contract and happens to be on the same bus as her. Yumi feels awkward being next to him at first, but as she gets to know him, she realizes that Soon-Rok isn’t as cold as she thought. She thinks Soon-Rok is quite attractive when she sees him take off his glasses.
Soon-Rok and Yumi work together frequently, and Yumi is more interested in getting to know him. She texts him first, even inviting him to see a movie with her. Soon-Rok rejects her because he wants to keep his work and personal life separate.
Soon-Rok established three rules in his life. First, he never visits someone without an appointment. Second, if it isn’t his business, he stays out of other people’s lives. Finally, he does not date anyone from his workplace.
Although Soon-Rok and Yumi do not get to date each other, they become good friends. They hang out and eat together frequently. One day, they go to the bookstore together, and Soon-Rok trips and falls as he exits the store. Yumi notices that his hand is bleeding and applies a band-aid to it.
On that same night, Yumi receives a text message from Soon-Rok saying he is at her door. When she walks out, Soon-Rok is waiting for her.
He gives a book to Yumi, and the book is the one Yumi wanted to read. Yumi asks what made him come all the way to her place late at night. Soon-Rok replies, “I like you, Yumi.”
Remember the three rules Soon-Rok had? He broke every one of them in order to date Yumi. Yumi feels happy when Soon-Rok confesses to her. She asks if he’s had dinner yet and invites him to have dinner at her house.
Yumi and Soon-Rok’s relationship begins quickly after that.
