The “Circus” episode of the Netflix series “Tomorrow” tells the story of Ryu Cho-Hui, a celebrity who suffers from malicious comments and rumors. The episode ends very differently in the original story than it does in the drama. In addition, Ryu Cho-Hui’s relationships with the other characters have changed.
Let’s look at three differences between the original webtoon and the drama “Tomorrow.”
1. In the webtoon, Ryu Cho-Hui had no previous relationship with Goo-Ryeon.
While he was in the military, Choi Jun-Woong was a big fan of Ryu Cho-Hui. Furthermore, Choi Jun-Woong’s doctor sister previously assisted Ryu Cho-Hui when she was ill. Goo-Ryeon believes the two are linked by a red thread of fate.
Choi Jun-Woong steps in to prevent Ryu Cho-Hui from hurting herself. He also tells her about himself, that he is a grim reaper whose true body is in a coma.
In the drama “Tomorrow,” Ryu Cho-Hui had a previous life as Gop-Dan, a servant of Goo-Ryeon. In the “Wind Flower” episode, Gop-Dan dies while attempting to protect Goo-Ryeon.
Because of their previous relationship, Goo-Ryeon appears to be quite emotional while assisting Ryu Cho-Hui. She keeps a close eye on Ryu Cho-Hui’s emotions and tries to console her.
2. The personalities of Ryu Cho-Hui’s family members shifted.
Ryu Cho-Hui is the older sister of Ryu Cho-Rong, a school bully who appears in the “Fallen Flower” episode. Ryu Cho-Rong is a friend of Kim Hye-Won, who bullied the school violence victim, No Eun-Bi.
Ryu Cho-Hui’s younger sister in the drama has a different personality than in the webtoon. She sobs when Ryu Cho-Hui is injured and she is caring for her in the hospital.
The relationship between Ryu Cho-Hui and her father has also changed. In the webtoon “Tomorrow,” Ryu Cho-Hui’s father is the only person in the family who is concerned about her. Her father reads the negative articles about Ryu Cho-Hui and contacts her frequently to make sure she is okay.
In the drama, Ryu Cho-Hui’s father calls her frequently to ask for money.
3. In the original story, Ryu Cho-Hui is not involved in a car accident.
Ryu Cho-Hui recovers from depression thanks to Goo Ryeon’s team in the webtoon. The team set up a stage where only fans who support Ryu Cho-Hui can attend. Ryu Cho-Hui gets a lot of energy from the fans and regains confidence. She smiles as she performs in front of the audience.
At the end of the episode, Ryu Cho-Hui pays a visit to Choi Jun-Woong. She realizes what Choi Jun-Woong told her about the grim reaper’s work is true. She looks at Choi Jun-Woong, who is in a coma, and hopes he will wake up soon.
In the drama “Tomorrow,” Ryu Cho-Hui attempts to end her life by jumping into the road. Goo Ryeon uses her power to stop time just before a car collides with Ryu Cho-Hui. Park Joong-Gil, on the other hand, appears in front of Goo Ryeon and tells her not to try to stop the death.
Ryu Cho-Hui is hit by a car, and Goo Ryeon is shocked and depressed as she witnesses the accident.
