The drama adaptation of the popular webtoon “Sacred Divorce” (literal title) has been confirmed. The webtoon is about a divorce lawyer named Shin Sung Han, who assists his clients in their divorce proceedings.
Kang Tae-Kyung created the original webtoon “Sacred Divorce,” which has been serialized on Kakao Webtoon since September 2019. The webtoon is reviewed by an actual law firm in order to add realism to the story.
Sacred Divorce Webtoon Synopsis
The story of “Sacred Divorce” begins with the protagonist, Shin Sung Han, who has grown up in the aftermath of his mother’s divorce. During his parents’ divorce proceedings, Shin Sung Han’s mother asked him to say good words for her in front of the divorce coordinator. Shin Sung Han realized his mother had lied to him and she no longer resided with him.
As a result of his childhood trauma, Shin Sung Han became a determined person. He continues to follow the news about his mother, who has become a celebrity with the image of a caring person. Shin Sung Han passes the bar exam and works as a divorce attorney.
His first client is a woman who visits him with a bruised eye. The client wishes to finalize her divorce and get sole custody of her son. However, the client had an affair with a man who lived in the same apartment complex.
Shin Sung Han argues in court that his client is a better choice for the child even though she had an affair. He displayed evidence of the client’s husband carrying an IED. The husband frequently used derogatory language toward his wife. He even counted the number of underwear in the drawers to ensure that his wife stayed at home all of the time. Shin Sung Han depicts another instance in which the husband coerces the son into calling his mother a slut.
The court requests more information from the son and eventually grants Shin Sung Han’s client the custody rights of the son.
The webtoon depicts various divorce cases, similar to the one described above. Shin Sung Han, the protagonist, develops into a strong divorce lawyer as he continues to take on more cases.
