Many viewers adore Lee Cheong-san (played by Yoon Chan-Young) in the drama, All of Us Are Dead, for his heroic aspects and pure romance with Nam On-jo. How does Lee Cheong-san look in the original webtoon? Three things have changed in the drama.
1. In the webtoon, Lee Cheong-san has no adversarial relationship with Yoon Gwi-nam.
Lee Cheong-san had never met Yoon Gwi-nam in the original All of Us Are Dead webtoon.
In the drama, however, the two appear as enemies. Following the zombie crisis, Lee Cheong-san flees the zombies and enters the principal’s office. And he notices that Yoon Gwi-nam has tied up the principal. He provokes Yoon Gwi-nam by threatening to take a picture of it.
In addition, during a physical fight, Lee Cheong-san damages one of Yoon Gwi-nam’s eyes with his smartphone and drops him into a swarm of zombies.
2. Lee Cheong-san is not a major character in the original webtoon.
In fact, in the original webtoon, Lee Cheong-san is a character that does not have a substantial part.
However, he has a memorable aspect, similar to the drama. Nam On-jo and Lee Cheong-san fall behind in class while evacuating to the rooftop in the original webtoon. And Lee Cheong-san gives himself up to raise Nam On-jo to the rooftop, leaving a famous line, “Today, I’m the happiest guy in this school.“
On Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead, Lee Cheong-san attracts zombies to save Nam On-jo and other surviving friends at the construction site. He even kills all of the zombies and fights Yoon Gwi-nam in the last battle.
3. Lee Cheong-san’s Death
In the original work, Lee Cheong-san saved Nam On-jo and then disappeared. He doesn’t even appear anymore, which indicates that he has died.
In the drama, his death is not certain. The name tag of Nam On-jo, which Lee Cheong-san wore at the construction site where everything was destroyed by the explosion, was preserved in its entirety. It’s a scene that makes viewers wonder if Lee Chung-san will return in All of Us Are Dead Season 2.
