Choi Nam-ra is a character in the drama “All of Us Are Dead” who received a lot of attention for her love story with Lee Su-hyeok, even while zombies were attacking. In an interview, Choi Yi-Hyun, who played Choi Nam-ra, made headlines when she revealed that she filmed kiss scenes with Park Solomon 17 times.
How did Choi Nam-ra appear in the original webtoon? Several changes have occurred as a result of the dramatization of the webtoon “All of Us Are Dead.”
First, an eye injury.
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Choi Nam-ra in the original webtoon is her bandaged eye.
Choi Nam-ra is attacked by a zombie while looking for emergency food with Lee Su-hyeok, injuring one eye. It’s a minor wound, but because there’s zombie blood in it, her body begins to transform into a zombie.
Fortunately, Choi Nam-ra is immune and does not turn into a full-fledged zombie. Despite the fact that she didn’t become a zombie, she conceals her injured eye with a bandage so that zombie survivors are not afraid of her.
Unlike in the original webtoon “All of Us Are Dead,” Choi Nam-ra’s eyes are not hurt in the drama. Nonetheless, one of her eyes turns red when she wants to bite someone or when she uses superhuman strength. Lee Su-hyeok wraps a bandage around the wound because one bloodshot eye could make the survivors afraid of Choi Nam-ra.
Second, Choi Nam-ra’s leadership.
As a class captain, Choi Nam-ra takes on the role of a leader without changing her personality from beginning to end in the webtoon. She looks for emergency food for her friends who are still alive or comes up with a zombie-fighting plan.
In the drama, she is appointed class captain on the recommendation and wealth of her parents. Choi Nam-ra is not pleased when her classmates only seek her out when she is needed. In the beginning, she is a bit passive in the group of survivors. However, over time, she shows a change in personality as she actively acts to save her friends.
Third, the return of Choi Nam-ra.
In the webtoon “All of Us Are Dead,” the government sprays poisonous gas, killing all living things in Hyosan City. Students in the surviving group are aware of this information in advance and cross the mountain to escape the toxic gas range. Choi Nam-ra decides not to go with other surviving friends at the time because she is concerned that her half-zombie status will affect those friends.
Choi Nam-ra reappears after a long absence, and she receives treatment with the assistance of the government.
In the drama, however, Choi Nam-ra does not return to the scene until the end, and she receives no assistance from the government. She jumps off the school’s roof, hinting at the possibility of a season 2 of “All of Us Are Dead.”
