The audience had been wondering whether Yumi and Babi would end up together in “Yumi’s Cells 2,” but in the end, the couple broke up. Yumi continues to write novels, and Babi is relocating to Singapore. What made Yumi decide she didn’t want to be with Babi, and how did their relationship end?
Yumi and Babi were engaged and on their way to be married. Yumi met Babi’s father, who really liked Yumi. They agreed on a wedding date, and Babi had a good feeling about his marriage with Yumi. Things changed when Yumi noticed Babi’s cellphone was ringing and saw that Da-Eun was calling him. Yumi would normally be upset if Da-Eun called her fiancée again because Da-Eun was one of the reasons Yumi and Babi had previously broken up.
However, Yumi didn’t feel worried and actually felt nothing. She realized at that point that she didn’t love Babi anymore because she wasn’t jealous or angry.
When Yumi was about to break up with Babi, Babi already knew what she was going to say and accepted it.
Yumi still thought that Babi was a good person despite their breakup. She chose Babi as the person who had the most influence on her decision to become a novelist. Babi was the person who suggested she write marketing material, and that was the trigger that got Yumi to think of a writing career. He was the biggest supporter while Yumi had difficulties before she published her first book.
Babi’s cells were awarded the Best Cells in Yumi’s Cell Awards.
On the day Yumi’s friend Yi-Da marries Ahn Dae-Young, many months after their breakup, Yumi is at the wedding, and Babi is on his way to the airport to fly to Singapore. Babi happened to be the person who discovered Yumi’s misplaced laptop and placed it in the airport lockbox.
Thanks to Babi, who found her laptop, Yumi was able to finish the final chapter of her new book.
She texts Babi to thank her and wish him a Merry Christmas. Despite the fact that their romantic relationship ended, they have no hard feelings for each other.
Babi has appeared throughout most parts of the “Yumi’s Cells 2” drama, just like he did in the original webtoon. He would be remembered as a special person in Yumi’s young life who left a lasting impression.
