The first table read for the upcoming drama “Today’s Webtoon” was held, and the three main actors, Kim Sejeong, Nam Yoon-Su, and Choi Daniel, were there and talked about how excited they were about the drama.
“Today’s Webtoon” is a remake of the Japanese drama “Sleepeeer Hit!” The original story was written in the manga series “Juhan Shuttai!” and was adapted into a Japanese drama series before becoming a Korean drama.
In “Today’s Webtoon,” Kim Sejeong portrays On Ma-Eum, a former member of the national judo team. She had to give up Judo due to an injury, but she found a new career working for a webtoon editorial department. As a new employee, she is fired up about achieving her new goal. Kim Sejeong displayed remarkable athletic ability in “The Uncanny Counter,” and she exuded a lot of positive energy in her most recent drama, “Business Proposal.” Fans are anticipating another outstanding performance from her in “Today’s Webtoon.”
Another piece of good news for K-drama fans is the return of Choi Daniel, who is best known for his role in “High Kick!” Choi Daniel hasn’t played the lead in a drama in years, and he chose “Today’s Webtoon” as his new project. He portrays Seok Ji-Hyung, a deputy editor in the webtoon editorial department. With his jokes, he is the person who breaks the ice in his department. He seems very professional at work, but when he’s not at work, he often gets lost and looks sloppy.
Along with Kim Sejeong and Choi Daniel, Nam Yoon-Su works in the same webtoon department. He portrays Goo Jun-Yeong, a genius who has always excelled in his field. He is overjoyed to have been hired by a well-known IT firm, but when he is assigned to the webtoon department, he is faced with unexpected life. As he works alongside On Ma-Eum, who always gives her all, he reflects on himself and strives to be a better person.
“It was the first time we got together and practiced, and I was nervous as if I had started filming,” Kim Sejeong said after the first table read. “I’m so excited because the script reading is so much fun, and I think the actual filming would be 100 times more fun than it is now.”
“We prepared a warm story that anyone can fall into and enjoy, including young people who wander and worry between dreams and reality, as well as office workers who endure and grow day by day,” the production team said of the drama.
“Today’s Webtoon” is being adapted into 12 episodes of a drama, with the first episode set to be released on July 29th.
