Netflix’s upcoming drama “The Sound of Magic” has released new stills for major characters. Three lead actors in the drama, Ji Chang-Wook, Choi Sung-Eun, and Hwang In-Yeop, have introduced their characters in the drama.
The fantasy drama “The Sound of Magic” is based on the webtoon “Annarasumanara.” The plot revolves around Lee Eul, a mysterious magician who appears out of nowhere in front of Yun Ai, a girl who has lost her dream, and Na Il Deung, a boy who has been forced to dream.
In the still cuts that have been released, three characters meet and grow as a result of magical experiences.
Lee Eul, played by Ji Chang-Wook, is a mysterious character who raises all sorts of rumors and questions while living in an abandoned amusement park with a parrot. He performs magic for others and asks them, “Do you believe in magic?” Lee Eul is an adult who wishes to live like a child.
“The standards of good and evil themselves are meaningless when describing Lee Eul,” Ji Chang-Wook said of his role. “I expressed my feelings honestly, without questioning any cause or reason,” he added.
Choi Sung-Eun, best known for her role in “Beyond Evil,” plays Yun Ai, a young girl who has lost her dream. Yun Ai, who used to believe in magic when she was a kid, now has a difficult life with her younger brother. Her father has disappeared, followed by a business failure. She has given up on her dream and simply wants to be an adult as soon as possible. Then, by chance, she meets Lee Eul, and she starts laughing and acting like a child again.
“It was important that the viewers understand Yun Ai and sympathize with her feelings,” Choi Sung-Eun said of her role. “I’m hoping that viewers will recognize part of themselves while looking at Yun Ai, as I have,” she added.
Hwang In-Yeop, best known for his role in “True Beauty,” plays Na Il Deung, who is the best student in the class. After taking a seat next to Yun Ai in the classroom, he begins to think about himself, what he has been dreaming of, and what he truly desires. Hwang In-Yeop talked about his role, saying, “He has no idea what he likes. At the same time, he is a sloppy person with an odd charm.“
“The Sound of Magic” will be released on Netflix on May 6.
