In an interview with Esquire Korea, Park Eun-Bin talked about her experience with the Netflix drama The King’s Affection. The King’s Affection is based on the webtoon Yeonmo and tells the love story of a crown prince disguised as a man. Park Eun-Bin portrayed Lee Hwi, the drama’s female protagonist and male disguise.
Park Eun-Bin discussed why she accepted the role in the interview.
To be honest, I never imagined myself playing a crown prince or king. So, as soon as I read the script, I wondered, ‘Can I play a role like this?’ It felt as if a completely new dream was being created.
Fans of the drama will remember the scene at the end of episode 9 where Lee Hwi kissed the male lead, Jung Ji-Un (played by Rowoon), who was sleeping while drunk. Lee Hwi’s affectionate eyes were close-up to the camera in this scene, making the viewer’s heart flutter. Park Eun-Bin confessed that this scene was improvised.
It seemed that the affection before kissing shouldn’t just be secretly kissing. I just wanted to see him a little closer, and I thought it was necessary to take out the feelings that I could not express before, even at times like this, in a secret and treasured way.
Park Eun-Bin said she was very grateful to the fans as they seemed to sympathize with the emotions she felt in that scene.
Park Eun-Bin also talked about her life during the break after the drama ended. She said she does nothing after she finishes filming and prefers to relax at home. She doesn’t even watch dramas on her phone when she’s on vacation.
“I don’t look at anything when I’m resting. I can’t take a break when I’m looking at something. Some people believe they have a lot of time when they are given 30 minutes to do this and that. I want fully focus on resting when I am given 30 minutes. “
After a break, Park Eun-Bin will return to fans with the Netflix drama Weird Attorney Woo Young-Woo.
