The last episode of the Netflix drama “The King’s Affection” was released on December 14th. The drama was also broadcast by the Korean broadcaster KBS, and it was so popular that the ratings for the final episode more than doubled compared to the first.
The drama “The King’s Affection” is based on the cartoonist Lee So-Young’s romance comics “Yeonmo,” and shows many differences from the original in the drama’s adaptation process.
The one thing that hasn’t changed is that the main character, Lee Hwi (played by Park Eun-Bin) in both the original comics and the drama, is a woman dressed as a man. In the original story, Lee Hwi plays the crown prince in place of his deceased twin brother, as she does in the drama.
“In the end, I want to be a woman.”
