On February 4th, JoyNews24 reported that Park Bo-Young had been cast in the upcoming drama adaptation of the webtoon “Morning Comes to the Mental Ward” (literal translation). Park Bo-Young portrays the protagonist Jung Si-Na, a female nurse who works in the psychiatric wards. Lee Jae-Gyu, who directed the popular Netflix zombie series All of Us Are Dead, will direct the drama.
The author of the original webtoon depicted her own experience as a nurse in a psychiatric ward. The author drew cute animals to represent each patient she met.
In the first episode, she introduces a patient named Ms. Duck. She was overjoyed, and when the doctor and nurses came to see her, she was happily dancing. Ms. Duck was so focused on her dancing that she didn’t notice her pee was coming out of her pants.
Ms. Duck is a manic patient. Mania often causes an individual to become abnormally upbeat or jumpy. Just as in Ms. Duck’s case, each episode of Webtoon introduces patients with a variety of symptoms.
Fans are excited to see how Park Bo-young reacts to patients in the new drama.
