The popular webtoon “Taereung Zombie Village” (literal translation) will be made into a drama. The male protagonist, Do Rak-Gu, is expected to be played by singer and actor Ok Taec-Yeon.
“Taereung Zombie Village” is a zombie blockbuster about young people fighting against one of the greatest disasters. It depicts the struggles of those who go out to save their loved ones as the zombie virus spreads in Taereung Athlete’s Village, a training facility for athletes preparing for the Olympics. The story is unique in that the zombies are extremely strong because they were members of the national athlete’s team.
The original web novel was popularly serialized on the portal site Naver from 2017 to 2018, and it was adapted into a webtoon on Naver Series in October 2018. Fans of the original work are excited to see how the original work will be changed and finished in the drama.
Ok Taec-Yeon is in talks to play Do Rak-Gu, the male protagonist in the drama “Taereung Zombie Village.” In the webtoon, Do Rak-Gu is a member of the Judo national team who won a silver medal at the Olympics. He uses his great strength to protect others from the zombie apocalypse.
