Yoon Sang-Ho, the director of the upcoming drama “Jinxed At First,” discussed what drew him to directing the drama. He also discussed the lead actors, Seohyun and Na In-Woo, and the atmosphere on the set.
“While reading the original webtoon, I became interested in the shaman character named Seol-Bi,” the director explained his inspiration for the drama. “During the process of adapting the original work into a drama, the personality of Seol-Bi stands out,” he added.
“SeoHyun acted so well that her role has distinct characteristics and charm, and I can tell she is like a Korean version of Rapunzel,” the director said of Seohyun, who plays Lee Seol-Bi. About Na In-Woo, who plays Gong Soo-Kwang, he said, “It was my second time working with him since ‘River Where the Moon Rises,’ and he showed more outstanding acting that shows his innocence like Ondal came to modern times.”
Director Yoon also shared his experience on set while filming “Jinxed At First.” He was referring to two scenes with opposing atmospheres. “I could feel the atmosphere best when filming the market scene,” he said, “where everyone enjoyed filming as if they were having a feast.” The secret room scene inside the hotel, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. “Actors Jeon Kwang-Ryul and Yoon Ji-Hye gave everyone goosebumps with their intense method acting,” he said.
Finally, the director elaborated on what the audience can expect from the drama. “‘Jinxed At First’ is a drama that spreads the happy virus,” he said, adding, “It depicts a world where people live with pure hearts.” “You will feel the fact that humans can only live by loving each other,” he added.
