In the upcoming webtoon-based film Concrete Utopia, Lee Byung-Hun plays the leader of his apartment residents in a post-apocalyptic world. Young-Tak, Lee Byung-Hun’s role, is a temporary representative of the Hwang Goong Apartment who has the power to instruct the other residents.
Young-Tak is based on Mr. Kim from the original webtoon Happy Neighbors.
Mr. Kim, the original story’s villain, is a former military officer. He represents the apartments that were left alone after the earthquake. Mr. Kim is a cruel person who tells the apartment residents to kill outsiders and steal their food. He frequently refers to people who aren’t apartment residents as “cockroaches.”
Even though the main characters in the movie Concrete Utopia are different from those in the original webtoon, the movie’s overall plot is expected to be the same.
Fans are looking forward to seeing Lee Byung-Hun play another strong character in Concrete Utopia after his performance as Front Man in Netflix’s Squid Game.
