The 1000th episode of the popular anime One Piece is almost approaching. On the occasion of the 1000th episode of the anime, the classic song “We are!” will be revived together with the freshly drawn video on the same day. At the same time, special remarks have arrived from ten voice actors, including Mayumi Tanaka, who plays Luffy.
I’m really grateful that you’ve been watching 1000 episodes for such a long time. When it started, I don’t think anyone had imagined that this anime would last for 1000 episodes. Recently, I heard from a friend that there was a child in elementary school who was trying hard to copy the cover of a comic. In other words, I wasn’t born when it started. I think it’s really amazing that it’s loved by such a small child. I don’t know how many years it will be, but I want to live and go to the final episode. Thank you to Oda and to all the viewers.(Translated) – Mayumi Tanaka
We Are!, the most unforgettable One Piece opening song for fans
We Are! was used as the opening song for the first season of the One Piece television anime. The song accompanied the majority of the episodes that comprised the East Blue and it became a sort of shorthand for the Straw Hat Pirates’ early experiences. Kohei Tanaka composed the original song We Are! in 1999, and it won the Heisei Anisong Grand Prize 1989-1999.
